Allez Olympique Lyonnais! (almost, almost as good at Old Tratford...)

I've been to many a Cubs, Bears, Blackhawks, and Mizzou games... but I FINALLY had a chance to go to my first soccer game! A must when in Europe, where people actually care...

Initially it was just going to be me and my friend Robert, but then Amanda and Mo tagged along for an awesome night!

The local team Olympique Lyonnais is a Champions League and Ligne 1 (France's Premier League) team. They have had their glory days, from 2002-2009 they were champions of France. Now, they are still an impressive team, but this season are just barelying trying to stay in the race...

With that aside, the game was great. We payed for the cheapest seats, 17 euros, and sat amongst OL's most fierce fans! We were in the crazy super fan cheering section and had a blast. We tried learning the cheers, and in my opinion did a pretty great job. My favorite had to be the "Nous sommes fachés!" (we are mad) which was shouted at the team while they left the pitch after the first half so that they know the fans weren't happy with the 0-0 score after 45 min. But not to worry, the team came back and destroyed Lens 3-0 by the end of the night at Stade de Gerland!
